Plant Engineer – Pharmaceutical IV Fluids & Infusions

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Plant Engineer to lead the Engineering & Maintenance function at our IV fluids and infusions manufacturing plant in Kinshasa. The role ensures safe, reliable, GMP‑compliant operation of production equipment, critical utilities, and plant facilities while developing the local engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage critical utilities such as Water for Injection (WFI), purified water, pure steam, HVAC, compressed air, and boilers.
• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of filling and sealing machines, autoclaves, sterilizers, packaging lines and other production equipment.
• Lead equipment installation, commissioning, capacity expansion and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, engineering change control, safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Supervise, train and develop the Assistant Engineer and local maintenance/electrical teams.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical or equivalent).
• 10–12 years of engineering and maintenance experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Hands‑on experience with sterile/parenteral facilities and critical utilities.
• Proven leadership of maintenance teams and equipment qualification projects.
• Willingness to undertake a full‑time expatriate assignment in Kinshasa.

Required skills

• WFI systems, pure steam generators, classified‑area HVAC, autoclaves/sterilizers.
• Equipment qualification (IQ/OQ), calibration, engineering change control.
• PLC/automation systems and CMMS.
• Knowledge of Blow‑Fill‑Seal (BFS) technology.
• Fluency in English; French proficiency preferred.
