Project Coordinator for Emergency Response

About the role

The Project Coordinator will lead the implementation and coordination of rapid emergency projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo, covering WASH, infrastructure, health and nutrition sectors. This field‑based position is based in Goma and reports to senior field managers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project implementation, ensuring objectives are met within time and budget constraints.
• Develop and manage activity plans, resource analyses and monitoring‑evaluation reports.
• Maintain relationships with beneficiaries, local authorities, UN agencies and NGOs, representing Medair in coordination meetings.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets in line with donor guidelines, including ECHO funding.
• Lead staff recruitment, appraisal, training and team meetings, promoting a consultative leadership style.
• Ensure security protocols are up‑to‑date, train staff on security planning and monitor compliance.
• Guarantee quality standards (Sphere, HAP, WHO) are applied and provide feedback during field visits.

Required profile

• University degree in Management, Development, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience in a management role, preferably in humanitarian relief.
• Strong knowledge of English and French (spoken and written).
• Familiarity with Humanitarian Essentials, Sphere and HAP standards.
