Project Director, Health Unit – EU-funded Project

About the role

The Project Director will provide technical leadership and operational oversight for an EU‑funded health project covering seven zones in North Kivu and Ituri, DRC. Reporting to the Country Director and the Director of Program Development, the role coordinates with the European Union, provincial authorities, partners, and IMA World Health offices in Kinshasa and Washington.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of project objectives to improve healthcare access, strengthen system governance, and enhance quality of care.
• Serve as primary liaison with the EU, DRC provincial governments, technical partners, and other development stakeholders.
• Ensure contractual compliance, budget adherence, and timely reporting in line with EU and IMA World Health policies.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and monitor program quality across all health zones.
• Coordinate with nutrition and health activities to promote harmonised interventions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale health or humanitarian projects in complex environments.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑sector partners and government entities.
