REACH Assessment Officer (Food Security & Livelihoods)

About the role

The REACH Assessment Officer will join the IMPACT team in Goma, DRC, to lead food‑security and livelihoods assessments that inform humanitarian planning and response. Working within the REACH initiative, the officer will contribute to the production of reliable, timely information for partners and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement multisectoral assessments focused on food security, nutrition and livelihoods in the target provinces.
• Collect, validate and analyse primary data using surveys, focus groups and remote‑sensing tools.
• Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs and UN agencies to ensure data relevance and quality.
• Produce assessment reports, dashboards and GIS‑based visualisations for decision‑makers.
• Support the continuous monitoring of the humanitarian situation and update the REACH information platform.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, agriculture, economics, geography or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years experience in humanitarian assessments, food‑security surveys or livelihood studies.
• Familiarity with the DRC context and ability to work in a multilingual environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience with data collection tools and survey software.
• Ability to produce clear written reports and presentations.
• Basic knowledge of GIS concepts and satellite imagery interpretation.
