Research Manager – USAID DRC CCF Assessment

About the role

Social Impact is seeking a Research Manager to lead the evaluation of USAID’s Complex Crisis Fund (CCF) programming in the Democratic Republic of Congo ahead of the 2023 election. The role will support the team leader in delivering a comprehensive assessment of electoral landscape, citizen awareness, hate speech, misinformation, trust, social cohesion, and participation of marginalized groups.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team leader in planning and executing the electoral landscape assessment.
• Coordinate data collection and analysis on the impact of CCF programming on voter behavior, youth, women, and other marginalized groups.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of elections‑related and media programming in combating hate speech, misinformation, and fake news.
• Analyze how elections programming contributed to dialogue, trust, and social cohesion during the electoral period.
• Support the assessment of large‑scale election observation and its influence on perceived legitimacy.
• Prepare learning products, including stakeholder presentations, written reports, and workshop materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing research or evaluation projects in complex humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of electoral processes and civic education initiatives.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and local partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
