SAFER Consortium Director

About the role

The SAFER Consortium Director leads the multi‑partner humanitarian consortium funded by FCDO and ECHO, coordinating emergency response programmes across the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic leadership for the SAFER Consortium and ensure effective, efficient delivery of multi‑sectoral assistance.
• Represent the interests of all five partner agencies (ACTED, Concern Worldwide, Mercy Corps, NRC, Solidarités International) to the Steering Committee and external stakeholders.
• Supervise the Deputy Director responsible for operational coordination, programme harmonisation and quality improvement.
• Lead high‑level advocacy, communication and donor relations with FCDO, ECHO and other partners.
• Oversee coordination with UN bodies, government authorities and other humanitarian actors.
• Manage the consortium’s annual budget of over €25 million and monitor performance against targets.
• Ensure delivery of cash‑and‑voucher assistance (CVA) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions to vulnerable households.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in multi‑partner humanitarian programmes.
• Strong knowledge of emergency response, CVA and WASH sectors in conflict‑affected settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with donors such as FCDO and ECHO.
• Excellent stakeholder management and representation skills at national level.
• Fluent in English; French language skills advantageous.
