Security Associate (G-6) – 6-Month Contract in Isiro, DRC

About the role

The Security Associate provides technical, operational and administrative assistance to ensure the safety and security of UNICEF personnel, families and assets in Isiro, DRC. Working under the Public Health Emergency Specialist and the Security Adviser, the incumbent supports security planning and response during the Ebola outbreak.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement security planning for staff and premises.
• Deliver safety and security services, including briefings and incident response.
• Maintain security networking and liaison with local authorities.
• Support knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.
• Assist in safeguarding UNICEF assets and resources at the duty station.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education, preferably with technical, military or police training.
• Minimum six years of progressively responsible experience in a security‑related environment.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of an additional UN language or local language is desirable.
• Experience with UN Security Management System (UNSMS) or similar international security frameworks.
