Security Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Security Officer for a six‑month temporary appointment in Butembo, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role supports the Hub Coordinator in Beni and the Security Adviser in Kinshasa to ensure the safety of staff, their families, and UNICEF assets during the Ebola response.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update security plans and procedures for the duty station.
• Conduct security risk assessments and threat analyses.
• Provide operational and administrative support for security management.
• Coordinate security measures with local authorities and partners.
• Monitor and report on security incidents and recommend mitigation actions.

Required profile

• University degree in Security Risk Management, International Relations, Conflict Analysis, Intelligence Analysis, Diplomatic Studies, Counter‑Terrorism or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in global security risk management or security analysis.
