Senior Data Science & Predictive Care Specialist

About the role

The Senior Specialist Data Science & Predictive Care will lead data‑driven transformation within Vodacom’s Customer Operations. Using advanced analytics, machine learning and AI, you will turn operational and customer data into actionable insights, predictive recommendations and automation to improve experience and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Create predictive models for churn, repeat calls, fraud and service issues.
• Build machine‑learning frameworks that enable proactive customer care and segmentation.
• Develop anomaly‑detection and fraud‑management solutions.
• Design scoring and recommendation engines to optimise engagement.
• Drive real‑time analytics for proactive issue identification and service recovery.
• Develop dashboards, automated reports and deep‑dive analyses for strategic decision‑making.
• Support the adoption of generative AI, LLMs and AI governance across Customer Operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data science, predictive analytics and AI modelling.
• Strong background in machine‑learning techniques applied to customer‑facing operations.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
• Experience working in telecom or large‑scale customer service environments.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
