About the role
Provide specialist drafting and design leadership across complex, multidisciplinary energy and infrastructure projects. The Senior Draughtsman will produce and approve high‑quality technical drawings, set drafting standards, mentor junior staff, and ensure outputs are accurate, compliant and aligned with engineering intent.
Key responsibilities
- Lead preparation, coordination and review of complex engineering drawings across concept, basic and detailed design phases.
- Produce and approve detailed layouts, general arrangements, sections, details and schedules.
- Act as technical authority for drafting standards, procedures and quality control.
- Coordinate drawing inputs across disciplines to ensure integrated, clash‑free designs.
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy, constructability and compliance with standards.
- Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards, templates and workflows.
- Provide expert support during construction and commissioning, including resolution of drawing queries, red‑line incorporation and as‑built documentation.
- Interface with engineers, project managers, clients and contractors to clarify design requirements.
- Mentor and support intermediate and senior draughtsmen.
- Model health, safety, environmental and quality standards and contribute to SHEQ risk identification.
Required profile
- Relevant diploma or qualification in Engineering Draughting / Design.
- Minimum 15 years of engineering drafting experience in energy, infrastructure, industrial or related sectors.
- Proven experience leading drafting deliverables on large, complex projects.
- Strong coordination, spatial awareness and high attention to accuracy.
- Leadership and mentorship capability.
- Effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in CAD/BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Plant 3D or equivalent.
- Ability to develop and maintain drafting standards, templates and workflows.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and client specifications.
