Senior Legal Officer – Mining Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to join our senior leadership team supporting mining operations in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role will provide strategic legal guidance across a range of complex issues in the mining and heavy‑industry sector.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic legal advisory to senior management.
• Manage litigation and arbitration matters.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts.
• Conduct due diligence and legal audits.
• Prepare legal documentation and oversee risk management.
• Maintain a strong network with international law firms and regional legal professionals.

Required profile

• 12–20 years of legal experience, preferably in mining, metals, or heavy industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic advisory, litigation, compliance, and contract management.
• Prior exposure to DRC jurisdiction and mining sector regulations.
• Established relationships with international and regional law firms.
