Senior MRP Planner

About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent – MRP, the Senior MRP Planner is responsible for overseeing planning, scheduling, and inventory accuracy for a large‑scale copper and cobalt mining operation. The role includes creating purchase requests, reviewing variances, developing corrective actions, and ensuring material supply aligns with production demand.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Inventory Planners – MRP and coordinate material supply to meet demand.
• Maintain and improve inventory management processes, including ABC classification, safety stock, and reorder points.
• Develop and integrate detailed commercial calendars, supply plans, and replenishment models.
• Analyze excess inventory, obsolescence, and forecast‑actual variances; implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with internal supply‑chain procedures, group standards, and regulatory requirements for raw materials.
• Maintain data reliability in the ERP system through parameter audits and BOM consistency checks.
• Monitor daily MRP operations, track supplier confirmations, and adjust orders as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in MRP planning and inventory management within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root‑cause analyses and drive continuous improvement.
• Leadership capability to supervise a team of inventory planners.
• Excellent understanding of supply‑chain impact on business decisions.
