Senior Officer, Technical Training (Underground)

About the role

The Senior Officer, Technical Training (Underground) will lead critical mining training programmes at Kamoa Copper Mine. The role focuses on delivering best‑practice refresher training, reinforcing safe work procedures, and ensuring operational competence across the underground workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and coordinate underground mining training programmes aligned with transformation strategies.
• Deliver and supervise best‑practice, refresher, incident‑learning and safety training sessions on‑site.
• Evaluate training effectiveness, identify compliance gaps and coach staff to close those gaps.
• Maintain training records, develop training materials and report on performance metrics.
• Prevent and report breakdowns, damages and material wastage related to training activities.

Required profile

• Mining degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 6 years experience as a miner or shift supervisor (essential).
• At least 3 years experience in training and development within an underground mining environment.
• Proficiency in business English; French and Swahili are advantageous.
• Relevant certificates such as Train‑the‑Trainer, Coaching, Mining Blasting, Forman/Production Supervisor.
