Senior Procurement Engineer / Assistant Manager – Mining Equipment

About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement and supply of spare parts, consumables, and services needed for mining operations. The role works closely with the HEMM department to coordinate sourcing, vendor management, logistics, warranty follow‑up and inventory control, keeping critical equipment running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors for mining equipment spare parts and consumables.
• Obtain quotations, perform technical and commercial comparisons, and prepare purchase recommendations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial terms; raise purchase orders.
• Coordinate with the HEMM department to forecast and meet spare‑part requirements.
• Manage international and local shipment logistics, track deliveries and handle customs documentation.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels for critical and fast‑moving spares; ensure accurate ERP records.
• Track warranty coverage, process warranty claims and coordinate with OEMs for replacements.
• Monitor consumption, identify cost‑reduction opportunities and develop alternate vendor options.
• Prepare and maintain procurement documentation and periodic reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or supply‑chain roles within mining or heavy‑equipment environments.
• Strong understanding of vendor management, logistics and inventory control.
• Ability to work closely with maintenance teams and anticipate spare‑part needs.
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on cost optimisation and compliance.
