Senior Programs Manager – Humanitarian Relief

About the role

The Senior Programs Manager (SPM) leads Samaritans Purse DRC’s relief and recovery initiatives from the Bunia office. Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, the SPM oversees the full program cycle, ensures alignment with donor policies, and drives partnership development and adaptive management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor Program Managers to meet programmatic objectives efficiently and ethically.
• Lead concept paper and proposal design, reviewing all submissions before donor submission.
• Facilitate continuous program improvement, ensuring timeliness, relevance, and accountability.
• Review financial reports, analyze spending, and provide feedback to finance and program teams.
• Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, and fleet units to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare and submit regular program updates to the Deputy Country Director, donors, and headquarters.
• Visit field sites to support staff, address challenges, and identify new opportunities.
• Represent Samaritans Purse DRC with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and donors.

Required profile

• Strong Christian faith with a commitment to living out that belief.
• Proven leadership experience in humanitarian program management.
• Ability to manage physical, emotional, and spiritual concerns of staff.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
