Senior Service Technician – Workshop (Mining Equipment)

About the role

Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is seeking a Senior Service Technician for its workshop in Lubumbashi. The role involves hands‑on maintenance, repair and inspection of mining equipment, supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while working closely with internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, repair and inspection activities on mining equipment with limited supervision.
• Repair and replace parts according to technical manuals and service instructions.
• Identify main components, interpret basic mechanical designs and perform assemblies/disassemblies.
• Execute maintenance tasks independently and verify results to detect issues.
• Guide and support junior technicians as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage of tools and equipment.
• Plan and document work, including tool and part requirements, in line with company procedures.
• Adhere to Sandvik Environment, Health & Safety policies and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in mechanical maintenance of mining equipment.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and make independent decisions.
• Strong understanding of equipment structure and basic mechanical principles.
• Commitment to safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Proficiency with workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to assemble, disassemble and align components.
