Site Acquisition Team Leader

About the role

Africell is looking for a Site Acquisition Team Leader to drive the identification, negotiation and hand‑over of telecom sites in Kinshasha, DRC. You will lead a team of specialists, coordinate with multiple internal departments and ensure that acquisition targets are met on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise all acquisition activities within the assigned region.
• Allocate daily tasks to Site Acquisition Specialists and monitor team productivity.
• Identify and evaluate rooftop and greenfield candidate sites, reviewing site packages before submission.
• Lead commercial negotiations with landlords, property owners and support land‑rental or acquisition deals.
• Coordinate legal due‑diligence, lease agreements and permit applications with the Legal Department and local authorities.
• Maintain strong relationships with landlords, municipalities, communities and government bodies.
• Synchronise acquisition work with RF Planning, NIS, Rollout, Finance, Procurement and Regulatory teams.
• Prepare and validate acquisition documentation, keep accurate regional records and report progress weekly and monthly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in telecom site acquisition, real estate or infrastructure deployment.
• At least 2 years of experience leading acquisition teams or projects.
• Strong knowledge of land ownership, leasing principles and local permitting procedures.
• Basic understanding of telecom infrastructure and RF site requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and people‑management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure and meet aggressive rollout schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
