Specialised Officer – Technical Training (Underground)

About the role

The Specialised Officer, Technical Training (Underground) will design, deliver and coordinate critical mining training programmes at Kamoa Copper Mine. The role focuses on best‑practice refresher training, safety reinforcement and operational competence for underground crews.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and supervise underground training sessions covering best practice, refresher courses and incident‑learning modules.
• Evaluate training effectiveness, identify compliance gaps and implement coaching interventions.
• Develop and update training materials, ensuring alignment with health, safety and operational standards.
• Monitor equipment, machinery and explosive handling procedures during training to maintain safety standards.
• Prepare reports on training outcomes, workforce performance and safety metrics.
• Support the transformation strategy by delivering training that meets local and corporate development goals.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a miner or supervisor role within underground mining.
• At least 2 years experience in training and development in an underground environment.
• Blasting, Afridex, Forman and Production Supervisor certificates.
• Train‑the‑Trainer Assessor and Coaching certificates.
• Proficiency in business English; French or Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving, leadership and risk‑management abilities.
