Superintendent II – Engineering (Underground Operations)

About the role

The Superintendent II, Engineering will lead all underground engineering activities at the Kakula mine, ensuring safe, efficient and continuous mining operations. You will supervise specialist teams, manage critical utilities and maintain equipment to support business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Execute, control and develop underground engineering operations.
• Supervise specialists and oversee water, power and pumping system management.
• Maintain equipment and ensure business continuity.
• Deliver the operating plan and manage contractors and service providers.
• Drive problem solving, continuous improvement and act as a construction‑engineering subject‑matter expert.
• Coordinate stakeholder relationships across functional teams.
• Monitor costs, support transformation initiatives and implement HSEQ plans.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Qualified artisan with supervisory training.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Foreman in mechanical‑electrical engineering, pumping and conveyor systems.
• Proven experience in a mining environment.
• Business‑level English; French or Swahili is a plus.
