Superintendent – Rotables Inventory Management

About the role

The Superintendent – Rotables Inventory Management will lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of repairable and reusable components (rotables) for Mutanda Mining. Reporting to the Inventory Management Manager, the role ensures equipment availability, reduces replacement costs and drives asset reliability across the mining operation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full rotables process, from receipt and tracking to repair, refurbishment and return.
• Maintain visibility and control of rotables inventory at sites and with external repair providers.
• Coordinate repair and refurbishment activities with suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
• Monitor turnaround times, warranty claims and repair quality to meet performance targets.
• Develop and optimise storage and exchange‑pool strategies to minimise equipment downtime.
• Analyse rotables performance data, produce dashboards and recommend cost‑saving actions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and reliability teams to align rotables planning with equipment strategies.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in supply chain, planning, procurement or inventory management.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in mining, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM or CSCP are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Pronto, JD Edwards).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data‑analysis capabilities.
• Demand forecasting and inventory optimisation.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving and stakeholder management.
