Supervisor - Milling Mechanical

About the role

The Milling Mechanical Supervisor will lead the mechanical maintenance team in the grinding sector of Kamoto Copper Company’s mining operation in Kolwezi, DRC. Reporting to the Milling Mechanical Superintendent, the role ensures equipment availability, reliability and performance while upholding safety, environmental and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive, corrective and emergency mechanical maintenance for grinding and crushing equipment.
• Lead safety initiatives, enforce work permits, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and PPE compliance.
• Plan and schedule maintenance interventions using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS/AMT) in collaboration with planning and operations.
• Supervise and develop team leaders and technicians, providing training and performance feedback.
• Analyse equipment failures, implement corrective and preventive actions, and propose improvements to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
• Ensure all maintenance work meets cost, deadline and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environmental and quality regulations.
• Ability to lead teams, manage priorities and communicate effectively with cross‑functional groups.
• Problem‑solving mindset with focus on equipment reliability.

Required skills

• Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS/AMT).
• Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of grinding and crushing equipment.
• Implementation of lock‑out/tag‑out and work‑permit procedures.
