Team Leader – Strengthening Access to Justice in the Great Lakes

About the role

Alert is seeking a senior Team Leader to head its Dutch‑funded “Strengthening Access to Justice in the Great Lakes” project, operating across the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Reporting to the Director of Programmes, the incumbent will be the principal on‑site representative, steering political engagement, daily operations, and overall project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a multi‑partner consortium, overseeing two partner organisations.
• Manage the project budget, workplan, and reporting to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kigali.
• Travel regularly to the five targeted border points to supervise sub‑teams and ensure implementation quality.
• Represent the project at national and regional advocacy events in Kinshasa, Kigali and other centres.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and produce timely progress reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of programme management experience in peacebuilding, rule of law or related fields.
• Proven track record managing large, complex consortia in the Great Lakes region or comparable contexts.
• Strong organisational, results‑oriented and detail‑focused approach.
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in French and English.
