Technical Specialist – Partnerships and Policy

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Partnerships and Policy will support the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI) Trust Fund, administered by the Multi‑Partner Trust Fund Office (MPTF‑O). The role contributes to the implementation of country‑led REDD+ and Low Emissions Development frameworks aimed at preserving the region’s tropical forests, mitigating climate change, and fostering sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the CAFI Trust Fund and its Secretariat services.
• Coordinate with the donor coalition (European Union, Germany, Norway, France, United Kingdom, Korea) and Central African partner countries.
• Assist in the development, monitoring, and reporting of national REDD+ and Low Emissions Development investment frameworks.
• Contribute to policy reform processes that address drivers of deforestation and promote sustainable economic development.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in partnerships, policy development, or climate‑related programmes within an international development context.
• Familiarity with REDD+ mechanisms, low‑emission development strategies, and forest conservation initiatives.
