Technical Specialist – Partnerships and Policy

About the role

The Technical Specialist – Partnerships and Policy will support the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI) by strengthening partnerships, shaping policy frameworks and facilitating the implementation of REDD+ and Low Emissions Development (LED) investments across Central African partner countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with donor agencies, governments and civil‑society organisations.
• Contribute to the design, negotiation and monitoring of policy reforms that address drivers of deforestation.
• Provide technical input for country‑led REDD+ and LED investment frameworks.
• Coordinate with the CAFI Trust Fund and the Multi‑Partner Trust Fund Office to ensure alignment of activities.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and communication material for the CAFI Executive Board and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in environmental policy, international development, natural resources management or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in climate‑change mitigation, forest governance or multi‑partner programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, multi‑agency environment.
