Water & Sanitation Project Manager

About the role

The Water & Sanitation Project Manager will lead community mobilisation and ensure safe water and sanitation access for vulnerable populations in Ituri Province, D.R. Congo. This full‑time position is field‑based in Bunia and runs for an initial 24‑month fixed term.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, supervise and support assigned WASH and infrastructure projects in line with proposals, budgets and timelines.
• Manage quality construction of water and sanitation facilities, ensuring sustainable maintenance and community involvement.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation visits, produce reports for field managers, GSO and donors.
• Integrate beneficiary participation and accountability mechanisms into project design and execution.
• Provide accurate and timely activity reporting (monthly, quarterly, final).
• Support the WASH & Infrastructure Advisor in developing standards and improving technical processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing WASH or similar public‑health infrastructure projects.
• Ability to travel frequently to remote field locations and work onsite in challenging environments.
• Experience training and supervising local staff and community committees.
• Strong understanding of national and international WASH guidelines and standards.
