Child Protection Specialist (Level 3) – Kinshasa

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will support UNICEF’s mission to create a safe environment for children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Chief, Child Protection, the specialist will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of child protection programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme and project development, planning and budgeting.
• Manage programme delivery, monitor progress and ensure results are achieved.
• Provide technical and operational guidance for programme implementation.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, donors and civil‑society actors.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, social science or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in social development planning, child protection management or related areas.
• Proven ability to engage in technical discussions with government counterparts and donors.
