Child Protection Specialist (NO-3), Fixed‑Term, Kinshasa

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will support UNICEF’s mission to create a safe and protective environment for children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the Chief, Child Protection, the specialist will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of child protection programmes across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare child protection programmes in line with UNICEF strategic plans and RBM methodology.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation to ensure delivery of results.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to field teams and partners.
• Facilitate networking and partnership building with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives within the child protection sector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, social science or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in social development planning, child protection management or related areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and to manage complex programmes.
