Country Manager – Logistics & Mining Operations

About the role

This expatriate position is responsible for leading all country‑wide operations of a logistics, mining, clearing and supply‑chain organisation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role combines operational, commercial, financial and regulatory oversight to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for logistics, customs clearing, workshop, fleet, finance and administration functions across the country.
• Manage operations in remote mining environments, ensuring service continuity, asset availability and safety standards.
• Drive operational excellence in transportation, warehousing, customs clearance and mining support services.
• Ensure compliance with DRC customs regulations, cross‑border trade requirements and local statutory obligations.
• Oversee fleet and equipment programmes, maintaining high utilisation and maintenance planning.
• Lead workshop operations, including labour allocation, productivity monitoring and safety compliance.
• Take full ownership of P&L, balance‑sheet, cash‑flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Manage tax compliance, engage with tax authorities and ensure corporate governance adherence.
• Identify and mitigate operational, financial and regulatory risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex mining and logistics operations in Francophone Africa.
• Strong command of French and English, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in remote, challenging environments and drive performance.
• Deep understanding of DRC customs regulations, tax legislation and corporate governance.
