Director of DRC INGO Forum Secretariat

About the role

Cordaid is seeking a senior leader to head the DRC INGO Forum Secretariat. The Forum brings together 120 international NGOs operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo to coordinate emergency and development assistance. The Director will provide strategic direction, manage a seven‑person team, and serve as the primary liaison between INGOs, government bodies, and humanitarian agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach the Secretariat staff, overseeing recruitment, performance management and capacity building.
• Manage the Forum’s budget, grant reporting and fundraising activities in collaboration with the host agency.
• Maintain and grow the membership database, handle fee collection, and support onboarding of new members.
• Coordinate the Steering Committee, facilitate monthly Heads of Mission meetings, and ensure effective communication across provincial platforms.
• Develop and implement the Forum’s strategic plan, log‑frames and advocacy agenda.
• Represent the Forum with external stakeholders, including government ministries, UN agencies and donors.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian or development coordination, preferably in fragile contexts.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and experience in staff management.
• Strong understanding of NGO networks, advocacy processes and donor relations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of building partnerships.
