Director of Mission Support

About the role

The Director of Mission Support (DMS) provides senior-level advice to the Head of Mission on all administrative, financial, contractual and operational support matters. Based in Kinshasa, the DMS ensures that the mission’s resources are managed effectively to support the UN mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Head of Mission on administration, budget, finance, human resources, supply‑chain, information and communications.
• Oversee the implementation of the Delegation of Authority Framework and report on its performance.
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures and standards consistent with UN regulations for budgeting, accounting, procurement, asset and staff management.
• Participate in senior management planning to align resources with mandate implementation and transition phases.
• Coordinate with the UN Country Team Operations Management Team on common issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing human, financial and physical resources within large international organisations.
• Proven ability to provide strategic advice to senior leadership.
• Strong knowledge of UN rules, regulations and the Delegation of Authority framework.
• Demonstrated competence in overseeing budget allocation, procurement and staff administration.
