Migration Health Officer (P)

About the role

The Migration Health Officer will support IOM’s mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo by contributing to health‑related components of migration protection programmes. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Migrant Protection Coordinator, the officer will work under the technical guidance of the Regional Health Assessment Programme Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation and monitoring of health assessments for migrant populations.
• Support data collection, analysis and reporting on health risks and needs.
• Collaborate with government authorities, UN partners and NGOs to ensure protection‑focused health interventions.
• Contribute to capacity‑building activities and training on health‑related protection standards.
• Help integrate health considerations into IOM’s broader protection, advocacy and communication pillars.

Required profile

• Open to first‑tier candidates, including internal staff and nationals from IOM member states that are not yet represented in professional categories.
• Qualified female candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
• Relevant academic background and professional experience in public health, migration health or related fields.

Required skills

• Health assessment and data analysis.
• Knowledge of migration protection frameworks.
• Ability to work with multi‑stakeholder environments.
