About the role

We are looking for a French teacher (modern literature) to join the teaching staff of Lycée français René Descartes in Kinshasa. The position starts on 18 January 2024 and runs until 5 July 2024, with a possible renewal for the 2024‑2025 school year.

Key responsibilities

• Teach French language and literature to middle‑school classes (6th to 3rd grade).
• Plan and deliver coherent learning pathways aligned with the school’s educational project.
• Manage classroom dynamics, differentiate instruction and support students with special educational needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school community.

Required profile

• At least a French university licence (L3) or equivalent qualification.
• Fluent oral and written French and solid knowledge of the curriculum content.
• Experience teaching children and adolescents.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to the school’s pedagogical approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and general computer tools.
• Familiarity with online collaborative platforms.
