QHSE Manager

About the role

The QHSE Manager will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and ESG systems for BCS Group’s Southern Africa operations. Reporting to the Group Head ESG and Sustainability, the role ensures compliance with the company’s Environmental and Social Management System, national legislation and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on QHSE matters across DRC operations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Develop, implement and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, plans and ESMS documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety analyses, environmental monitoring and maintain emergency response plans.
• Plan and execute QHSE audits, inspections and incident investigations, driving corrective actions.
• Deliver training and awareness programs for employees and contractors, monitoring competency gaps.
• Support ESG initiatives, waste reduction, environmental protection and social responsibility programs.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely ESG reporting and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in QHSE management within a multinational or infrastructure environment.
• Strong knowledge of national legislation and international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to lead audits, investigations and drive continuous improvement.
