Site Acquisition Manager

About the role

Helios Towers is seeking a Site Acquisition Manager to lead the end‑to‑end acquisition function for its expanding telecom infrastructure portfolio across Africa and the Middle East. You will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing sites while ensuring all regulatory and contractual obligations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Site Acquisition team, setting priorities and monitoring performance.
• Plan and oversee the full acquisition lifecycle, from site identification and property assessment to lease negotiation and permitting.
• Negotiate ground lease agreements, renewals, amendments, novations and terminations in line with company policies.
• Manage relationships with landlords, property owners, government authorities and external partners to facilitate acquisitions.
• Coordinate acquisition and colocation activities with Commercial, Finance, Legal, Engineering and external operators.
• Secure and maintain all statutory permits, licences and regulatory approvals throughout the site’s operational life.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and governance standards.
• Monitor acquisition progress, contractor performance, budgets and timelines, addressing risks and delays proactively.
• Maintain accurate records of acquisition activities, lease agreements, permits and site documentation.
• Prepare operational reports, dashboards and management updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading site acquisition or similar functions within the telecom or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of lease negotiation, permitting processes and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with landlords, authorities and internal teams.
• Project‑management orientation with a focus on delivering on time and within budget.
• Ability to analyse risks, resolve bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
