Compensation & Benefit Manager

About the role

The Compensation & Benefit Manager reports to the Chief People Officer and leads the design, implementation, and optimisation of the company’s compensation and benefits programmes. This role ensures that pay structures are fair, competitive, and compliant with local regulations while supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for managers on compensation and benefits matters, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct salary and labour market surveys, analyse trends, and adjust compensation policies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain competitive pay and benefit schemes to attract and retain top talent.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and conduct regular pay‑equity audits.
• Collaborate with Recruitment to keep job descriptions current and evaluate position classifications.
• Lead labour‑cost governance, including cost monitoring, budget vs. actual analysis, and forecasting.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to align workforce structures with productivity targets.
• Create and maintain compensation dashboards and KPIs for cost visibility and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in compensation and benefits, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Required skills

• Analytical and financial acumen for labour‑cost analysis.
• Experience with workforce budgeting and cost modelling.
• Proficiency in job architecture, workforce planning, and compensation governance frameworks.
