Technical Training Manager – Mining Operations

About the role

Kamoto Copper Company is seeking a senior‑level Technical Training Manager to lead the Technical Training Department. Reporting to the General Manager – Human Resources, you will own the strategy, operation and budget for the site’s comprehensive technical training system across all mining and industrial disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Define and align the technical training strategy with HR, operational and production priorities.
• Structure and manage the full training system covering open‑pit, underground, heavy mobile equipment, concentrator, refinery, HSE, trades and security.
• Design a complete skills‑development architecture, from needs analysis to deployment and evaluation.
• Ensure training programs meet HSE, regulatory, performance and safety requirements.
• Oversee upskilling, reskilling and certification programmes, managing budgets and external providers.
• Measure training impact through KPIs, produce strategic reports and support transformation projects.

Required profile

• University degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Metallurgy or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mining or a comparable heavy‑industrial environment.
• Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Fluency in French and English is preferred.
• Train‑the‑Trainer and Project Management certifications are an asset.
