Director for the DRC INGO Forum Secretariat

About the role

Cordaid is seeking a senior leader to head the Secretariat of the DRC INGO Forum, a platform that brings together around 120 international NGOs operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Director will provide strategic direction, ensure effective coordination among members, and represent the Forum with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead HR functions for the seven‑person Secretariat, including recruitment, team management, performance appraisals and capacity‑building.
• Oversee financial management, budget preparation, grant administration, reporting and fundraising activities.
• Maintain and expand the membership database, manage registration, fees and induction processes for new NGOs.
• Coordinate the Steering Committee, elections, and develop the Forum’s strategic plans and log‑frames.
• Facilitate monthly Heads of Mission meetings, ensure clear agendas, minutes and follow‑up on action points.
• Ensure smooth collaboration between the Secretariat and the Host Agency, providing strategic and technical guidance to the Executive Committee.
• Promote communication between INGOs, government bodies, UN agencies and other partners, strengthening the collective voice of NGOs in the humanitarian and development architecture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing multi‑disciplinary teams within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong background in financial and grant management, including budgeting and donor reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder coordination, advocacy and strategic planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with NGOs, government and UN entities.
