Internal Auditor – M-Pesa (Group EHOD)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to lead risk‑based audits for M‑Pesa across the Group. Reporting operationally to the Group EHOD of Internal Audit and administratively to the DMD for Vodacash, you will ensure timely execution of audit plans and support strategic audit initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute end‑to‑end M‑Pesa audits, including scoping, planning, delivery and reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, directors and global Internal Audit teams.
• Manage a virtual community of auditors, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Identify, assess and report significant control weaknesses and promote best business practices worldwide.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for the Financial Services line and drive cross‑entity audit projects.
• Support the Group EHOD, ALT members and junior auditors with expertise and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or related field.
• 8‑10 years of audit experience (internal and external) with at least 4 years in senior management.
• Background in financial services, familiarity with central banks and regulatory bodies.
• Experience in the telecom industry or related sectors.
• Strong English communication, report writing, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior management and lead high‑performing teams.
