Senior Superintendent I, Geology

About the role

The Senior Superintendent I, Geology will lead the KCSA Geology department, ensuring best‑practice geological support for mining operations at the Kamoa Copper Mine. You will coordinate a team of specialists to maximise ore extraction while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a world‑class geology function, implementing structures, policies and governance.
• Plan and oversee drilling programmes, including contractor and consultant management.
• Drive problem‑solving, continuous improvement and digitisation initiatives.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships across the value chain.
• Forecast, secure and manage the department budget in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix.
• Ensure HSEQ compliance and promote a safe, inclusive work environment.
• Provide reporting, governance and quality assurance for geological activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology.
• At least 10 years of experience in exploration and mining geology.
• Mining experience in African countries is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in business English; French or Swahili considered a plus.
• Knowledge of DRC mining legislation and Kamoa strategic imperatives.
• Strong program, project and financial management skills.

Required skills

• Understanding of structural geology and deposit geology.
• Basic sampling and resource geology knowledge.
• Drilling experience.
• Advanced computer literacy: MS Office, Leapfrog, Datamine, Sable, CadsMine, Geomodelling.
• Policy, process and standards development.
