Specialized Artisan – Mechanical & Fitting (Diesel Mechanic)

About the role

The Bulk Engineering Maintenance Department at Kamoa Copper Mine is seeking a Specialized Artisan in Mechanical and Fitting, focused on diesel engine maintenance. You will ensure that main generation farm diesel engines remain operational for both normal and emergency production cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate main generation farm diesel engines, guaranteeing continuous functionality.
• Supervise specialist teams to achieve optimal operational conditions.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across functional lines to improve collaboration and innovation.
• Monitor costs within approved budgets to drive cost efficiencies.
• Integrate HSEQ standards into all work processes and support transformation initiatives such as automation and sustainability.

Required profile

• Valid trade certification as a Diesel Mechanic Artisan.
• Minimum six (6) years of post‑qualification experience in the mining sector.
• At least six (6) years of experience maintaining industrial rotating machines, specifically MTU (Rolls Royce), Perkins and Caterpillar diesel engines.
• Proficiency in business English; knowledge of French, Swahili or Mandarin is a strong advantage.
