Superintendent II – Short Term Mine Planning Engineer

About the role

The Superintendent II, Short Term Mine Planning Engineer will lead the development and execution of short‑ to medium‑term mine plans for the Kamoa Copper Mine. This role ensures safe, efficient mineral extraction while aligning with the long‑term mining strategy and quarterly production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and implement short‑ and medium‑term mine plans that maximise safety and efficiency.
• Integrate drill‑and‑blast operations, production scheduling and cross‑functional coordination.
• Deliver practical, achievable plans that meet quarterly targets and comply with technical and safety standards.
• Define, manage and coordinate the mine‑planning function across the project.
• Monitor and adjust plans based on operational performance, legislation and strategic imperatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s in Mine Planning & Optimisation is a plus).
• Minimum 7 years post‑graduation experience in mine planning (short and medium term) and underground mining.
• At least 5 years experience in geological data interpretation and mine surveying.
• Minimum 5 years experience using Deswik mine‑planning software.
• Proficiency in business English; French or Swahili is an advantage.
