Area Assistant Security Manager

About the role

The Church seeks an Area Assistant Security Manager to provide professional physical security coverage for its properties, facilities, employees, leaders, visitors, and guests worldwide. This role supports a safe environment for worship, teaching, learning, and sacred ordinances, contributing to the Church’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of Church Security Department strategies across the assigned area.
• Conduct geopolitical risk assessments and monitor the security environment using intelligence and field information.
• Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, embassies, NGOs, and private security providers.
• Assist in coordinating emergency action plans, drills, and security training activities.
• Provide security guidance on housing, travel, and incident response to Area and Mission leadership.
• Deliver security training and awareness programs for Church leaders, missionaries, and staff.
• Conduct physical security assessments of meetinghouses, offices, and missionary housing.
• Support incident response, reporting, and monitoring of local security trends.
• Ensure Church security protocols are adapted to local contexts and contribute to information sharing.
• Provide operational support during high‑level visits, events, or emergencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminology, law, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in security operations, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage security personnel, deployments, and performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
