Commercial Project Manager

About the role

The Commercial Project Manager will lead bid management and commercial activities for multi‑disciplinary property and building engineering projects. This role bridges engineering design, risk assessment and pricing to deliver profitable contracts and support project delivery across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end bid processes, coordinating with business units, discipline leads and development teams.
• Develop accurate tender pricing, forecasting and budgeting aligned with group planning processes.
• Prepare and review contractual arrangements, including FIDIC White Book, NEC 3, PROCSA and NDAs.
• Negotiate contract terms to balance financial performance, risk reduction and client relationships.
• Conduct legal due‑diligence with the WSP legal team on clients and supply‑chain partners.
• Oversee public‑sector bidding, ensuring compliance with prescribed legal forms.
• Support project delivery through quarterly financial and technical reviews, change management and claim handling.
• Train staff in commercial management practices and promote commercial awareness through feedback and reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management or bid management within property, building or engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of contract forms such as FIDIC, NEC 3 and related professional service agreements.
• Ability to assess risk, price opportunities and manage working‑capital considerations.
• Experience liaising with legal teams and conducting due‑diligence on clients and partners.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement and internal coordination.
