Country Director – Democratic Republic of Congo

About the role

World Relief is seeking a compassionate and visionary leader to serve as Country Director for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this senior position you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the country program, ensuring high‑impact humanitarian and development responses that align with the organization’s Christian values.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a revised country strategy that reflects World Relief’s mission, vision, and values.
• Oversee all programmatic, financial, security, and donor‑relation activities across the DRC portfolio.
• Supervise staff, monitor daily work, approve timesheets, manage performance reviews, and handle HR actions in the HRIS.
• Lead the team spiritually by facilitating prayers, devotionals, and fostering a Christian work environment.
• Maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and local churches to secure resources and support.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and Christian faith.
• Proven experience in senior leadership, program management, and donor engagement.
• Ability to manage complex operations, budgets, and security considerations in a challenging environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to inspire and guide a diverse team.
