ESS Delivery Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems

About the role

The ESS Delivery Engineer will lead commissioning, testing and hand‑over activities for large‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects worldwide. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot and resolve defects on battery containers, fire suppression, liquid cooling, DC and AC circuits.
• Assist with Power Conversion System (PCS) and Energy Management System (EMS) commissioning and basic operation.
• Support on‑site fault analysis, corrective actions and issue closure together with the project team.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing, grid‑connection testing and overall project acceptance.
• Provide customer training on system operation, maintenance and product usage.
• Track commissioning issues to closure and ensure schedule compliance.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, After‑Sales Service and Project Management to resolve site issues.
• Follow EHS requirements and ensure safe execution of all activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Communication, Energy or related engineering discipline.
• More than 5 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects or related industries.
• Familiarity with primary/secondary electrical systems, BESS, PV and power systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and communication topology drawings.
• Fluent English for daily work and on‑site communication; Mandarin Chinese proficiency required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long‑term overseas assignments.
