Geotechnical Resident Engineer

About the role

WSP is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Resident Engineer to lead the construction management team on complex civil and building projects. Reporting to the Contracts Engineer, you will ensure that all construction activities meet scope, budget, schedule, quality, environmental and safety objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor and control all construction and related activities.
• Interact with design teams to resolve design queries and facilitate wayleave approvals.
• Lead the site supervision team and manage contract administration.
• Monitor programme progress and produce regular reports.
• Conduct quality plan assessments, site audits, inspections and approve/reject quality control testing.
• Forecast cash flow, manage cost reporting and prepare completion and as‑built reports.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental and quality documentation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in geotechnical, road, bridge or major culvert construction.
• Experience as Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer with a focus on slope stability.
• Previous work for public‑sector clients is advantageous.
• Professional registration as PR Engineer or PR Technician is mandatory.
