Head of Finance – Kinshasa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead the Finance & Accounts function for our operations in Kinshasa, DRC. The role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, treasury, tax compliance, and the financial aspects of supply chain and import activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and close processes.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, costing, MIS and variance analysis.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, banking relationships and foreign‑exchange management.
• Ensure compliance with DRC tax, VAT, customs and statutory requirements.
• Handle import‑related finance, including letters of credit, customs duties and forex transactions.
• Provide financial oversight for procurement, inventory and supply‑chain operations.
• Support capital‑expenditure projects, plant expansion and project cost tracking.
• Drive internal controls, audit readiness and financial governance.
• Partner with senior management on pricing, cost optimisation and expansion decisions.
• Lead and develop the Assistant Accountant and supply‑chain support function.

Required profile

• CA, CPA, MBA Finance or Master’s in Finance/Commerce.
• 10–15+ years of finance & accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Finance Head or Financial Controller role.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, manufacturing or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Strong background in cost accounting, budgeting, reporting, taxation, treasury and working‑capital management.
• Hands‑on experience with imports, customs duties, letters of credit and forex.
• Project and capex financial management experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
• Willingness to relocate and work full‑time in Kinshasa.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally or Sage.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
