Head of Operations – Ground Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will lead ground operations for a commodity trading partnership in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This senior role ensures that daily logistics, export timelines, and stakeholder coordination are executed efficiently across remote African locations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day ground operations to meet delivery and export schedules.
• Track commitments, deadlines, and responsibilities across teams and sourcing sites.
• Identify and resolve logistics, documentation, supplier, customer, and operational bottlenecks.
• Manage communication between Dubai, African outposts, suppliers, logistics partners, and government authorities.
• Improve operating processes and support the rollout of the operating model in new African markets.

Required profile

• 3–10 years of experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, business operations or similar roles.
• Background in commodity trading, mining & metals, logistics, industrial or international trading, preferably in Central Africa.
• Strong operational discipline, accountability, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Comfortable working in rural/remote African environments and travelling frequently.
• Fluency in Hindi is highly desirable.
