Lingala-English Translator – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Lingala speaker with fluent English to join our remote team as a Lingala‑English translator. The role focuses on transcribing and analyzing video content to support the development and fine‑tuning of AI language models.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe video material spoken in Lingala, capturing precise wording and timestamps.
• Annotate emotional tone, intent, and contextual nuances of speakers.
• Evaluate and compare grammar, tone, and structure between Lingala and English texts.
• Define conceptual meanings of words and phrases, highlighting cultural references.
• Perform complex linguistic tasks that feed into AI model training pipelines.
• Collaborate with the client’s team to ensure deliverables meet quality and project specifications.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Lingala and fluent English.
• Exceptional attention to detail in transcription and linguistic analysis.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities applied to language data.
• Experience in transcription, translation, localization, or related linguistic work.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
