Manager - Community Development

About the role

The Manager – Community Development will lead Kamoto Copper Company’s sustainable social performance, ensuring compliance with international standards and delivering tangible benefits to host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a community development strategy aligned with national legislation, corporate sustainability goals, and international frameworks (UNGP, ICMM, ILO, IFC).
• Identify, assess, and integrate social and human‑rights risks into the company’s overall risk profile, establishing robust control mechanisms.
• Lead grievance management through an asset‑level complaints system that meets UNGP effectiveness criteria.
• Coordinate internal and external audit missions, document findings, and drive corrective actions.
• Design and execute social development projects (education, health, livelihoods, infrastructure) on time, within scope and budget, while monitoring impact and SROI.
• Manage consultants and implementation partners, ensuring quality control and performance accountability.
• Oversee the community development team, budget, planning, and performance reporting.
• Represent the function in internal and external forums, integrating social performance considerations into strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community development, CSR or socio‑economic development within the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of UN Guiding Principles, ICMM, ILO and IFC standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, budgets and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
